Blue Tit London takes the stage at Salon International 2025

Salon International was an absolute vibe. This year, the Blue Tit London team brought serious energy to the Hairdressers Journal stage, showcasing the creativity and craft that define London’s hair scene.

Taking to the stage for Blue Tit London were stylists Bradley Staff, Gemma McConnell, Kate Shaw, Lucia Thittichai, Tom Warr, Pash Mitchell, and Leanne McCarthy, supported by assistants Remmy Khoushpeyman and Mollie Birmingham. Together, they delivered a high-energy presentation that captured the essence of modern London hairdressing: effortless texture, bold colour and sustainable creativity.

The team drew on their collective experience across Blue Tit’s salons – from East London to South – combining individuality with a shared creative vision. The result? A showcase of trending hair that felt wearable, expressive and distinctly Blue Tit London.

Look 1 – Voluminous textured afro

Voluminous Textured Afro styled for Salon International 2025

This look features a beautifully shaped, high-volume afro with a rounded silhouette and soft halo finish. The colour is a rich copper-red tone – warm, dimensional and full of depth under natural light. The texture is airy yet defined, giving the hair movement without losing structure.

Look 2 – Modern mullet with sculpted height

This look is a short, cropped cut with sculpted height through the crown – a modern interpretation of the mullet or faux-hawk. The sides are tapered and neat, keeping focus on the lifted front section which is styled upward for a sleek, directional shape. It feels punk-influenced yet polished – gender-fluid, strong and distinctly London. Hair by Tom Warr.

The shape is bold and architectural – a perfectly balanced triangular silhouette that fans out through the sides while staying neat through the crown. The texture is finely brushed and controlled, giving a halo-like volume. The copper-red tone catches the light beautifully, adding warmth and depth to the geometric cut. It’s an instant editorial moment. Hair by Leanne McCarthy.

Look 4 – Bleached shag with graphic fringe

Shag with graphic fringe for Salon International 2025

This look takes inspiration from 80s punk and modern alt-beauty, combining a soft, lived-in shag shape with a graphic fringe. The hair is bleached to an icy blonde, creating a high-contrast base for the deep violet panel through the front. The texture is loose and undone with natural wave movement through the mid-lengths. The fringe sits high framing the face – perfectly capturing Blue Tit London’s creative energy from the capital. Hair by Kate Shaw.

Look 5 – Layered curls with volume

A nod to classic disco texture with a London edge. This look celebrates the natural curl pattern, shaped into soft, rounded layers that create movement and volume. Styled with a natural lift at the crown, it gives confidence, framing the face with a light, effortless halo. It’s all about texture that feels alive and modern. Hair by Pash Mitchell.

This cut redefines the shag for 2025 – cropped super short, with face-framing layers and natural movement through the ends. The vibrant warm copper-red tone adds heat and dimension, while the piecey texture keeps it playful. Styled with a slightly lived-in finish, it has punk roots. The result is effortlessly cool, a shape that feels authentic – a modern London take on grunge revival. Hair by Gemma McConnell

Salon International is one of the biggest events in the global hairdressing calendar – a weekend where stylists, educators and artists come together to push boundaries, share techniques and inspire the next wave of talent.

As the music hit and the lights came up, the crowd response said it all. Energy, connection, and the kind of artistry that reminds you why hairdressing is never just about hair.

A huge thank you to Hairdressers Journal for having us, and to everyone who came to watch, cheer and connect. Until next year – we’ll be back, bigger, bolder, and always sustainable.
